How to Post A Thread or Movie Page

For those of you wanting to help out on the web site and post movies or content you have here on FOMF here is a tutorial on how to do this.

First Off and Most Important - SEARCH FOR THE CONTENT - Refer to the Searching for Content Thread on How to Best search for content on the site. We and the users here do not want to weed through a bunch of threads that are the same. If the Content or Movie already exists , reply to the post with your extra links and I will put the links into the main thread for you, giving us mods only one thread to have to keep up to date.

If you are a web page owner and want to post links to your web site DO NOT POST YOUR LINKS HERE! You can go to www.movies-finder.com and search for the movie there and post a link to your movie page there.

Now if you do not find the content or Movie you are looking for and you want to post it here find the appropriate forum that the movie or content belongs in and go into that Forum. Click On New Thread button. This will bring up a blank template for you to create your thread.

TITLE:
We Use www.IMDB.com English USA Released Titles for the movies here, unless you are posting the thread in the foreign forum. So for the Title Put in "Movie Title (YEAR)" make sure you include the year because many movies and games are named the same and only the year separates them.

TAGS:
Tags are very important here for the users to find your thread by using the Main Search Box. For tags copy in your movie title and year. You will separate each tag by a comma, also add into tags the genres you find on the IMDB page for the movie. This helps people find your thread when they want to watch a particular genre. If You want you can also add in the major actors and actresses as tags.

MESSAGE:
This is where you will present your content. I usually Put In the Title and Year at the Top then Hit enter to create a Space, I then put in the Plot summary of the Movie, I also usually find the most informative plot summary because the users want to know as much as they can about what they are about to watch. Then I Hit Enter again to put a space. Next I usually enter More Info [enter] then the www.imdb.com url for the Movie. Next You will want to attach, by clicking on the paperclip, browsing for the Movie poster that you saved on your computer, (you can get most movie posters from www.movieposterdb.com, get the movie poster as large as you can then right click and save as on your computer) once you upload the movie poster you can close out of the upload manager. Then Click on the paperclip again and you will see your poster you uploaded listed there, click on your poster and you will see [attach ####] show up in your message. You can at this point highlight everything and click on center to center all that you have done. Click and put your cursor after attachment and hit [enter] to put another space. You can optionally go to www.youtube.com and find a trailer for the movie and paste the url for the trailer on the message as well. Then I put in "Links to the Movie:" [enter] and you can paste in the url's to the movie or your content. if you have multiple Links put "Alt Links:" and paste in your alt Links. Feel free to add color, graphics or smiles if you like to.

Then all you have to do is save your thread and rate it so it will have stars.
